Draw Near

HELLO AND WELCOME. Draw Near exists to glorify God and help others draw near to Christ by providing resources. These resources include free ebooks, blogs, images, and videos. Draw Near is maintained by Christian author Kim Bond.

Keep reading on this page to check out what the Bible tells us about God. Then, you may want to read some short EXCERPTS from the free ebooks (writing samples). After you're done there, you will probably want to enjoy the FREE EBOOKS in their entirety (or download them to read later). Finally, you can check out a blog, some cool videos, and  MORE

GOD IS LOVE1. GOD IS LIGHT2. So why don’t we all embrace God? The problem is that humankind loves the darkness. We love the darkness because it seems to hide our sin. Even though darkness seems like a good cloak for our mistakes, God knows our every thought and sees right into our hearts. It is impossible to hide sin from God. When we are filled with the shame of our sin, we cannot come near to God.

GOD IS JUST3. GOD IS MERCIFUL4. Since God is just, payment for sin was necessary. Since God is merciful, He sacrificed His Son Jesus to pay for the sins of the world. Jesus rose from the dead and attained eternal life not only for Himself but also for all those who trust in Him. If we trust Jesus Christ has made payment for our sins, we can draw near to God and embrace Him eternally.

GOD IS SPIRIT5. GOD IS RIGHTEOUS6. Once we have embraced God through faith in His Son, God’s Spirit enters our bodies to help us live according to His righteous standards. It is up to us to live in obedience to God’s Spirit, and we often fail. This is why Christians continue to make mistakes even though God lives in us. However, God never stops loving us or working in us to complete the work He has begun. He never abandons or forsakes us.

GOD WANTS ALL TO BE SAVED7. If you have never accepted the gift of salvation from God, join me in the following prayer: Father God, I confess I have made mistakes in my life and sinned against You. I believe Your Son died on the cross, and His blood paid for my sins. I believe You raised Him from the dead, and He is alive today. Thank You that Jesus Christ is my Savior. In Christ’s Name, Amen.

If you prayed that prayer, congratulations on your wonderful decision! A great next step is to confess your decision to other Christians in your life. Having a group of Christians to support your decision is invaluable as you continue on your walk of faith. May God bless you on your spiritual journey. Do you want to read about mine?
